There is nothing like record high temperatures in early November to lift your spirits.
On Friday, I played my first game of hockey in a long time. The plus 60 league plays in six week schedules throughout the fall, winter, and spring. I am playing two games a week until December 23. During Friday's game, I had 3 assists, but I was not able to bend the twine in spite of getting several shots on net.
I have returned to ballroom dancing this fall. Seeing the old gang at ballroom dancing has been a real lift.
On Saturday, I went for two long walks along the river bank. My personal favourite trail is along the off leash area beside Silverwood Golf Course. I like to walk along the rabbit trail all the way to the work area beside the new commuter bridge. Walking the trail is good for the soul. My second walk was along the south trail from the old Labatt Brewery site to Gordie Howe Bridge.
Sunday was All Saints' Sunday. Lighting a candle in memory of Judy was an emotional event. Thank you, God, for all the people who lift me up in prayer and give me healing hugs. On Sunday afternoon, The Neighbor Lady came over for Happy Hour. One of Judy's favorite activities was having a garage party with The Neighbor Lady. The tradition continues. The main event for Sunday was the Resurrection Lutheran Church Fall Supper. I was happy that my crew joined me for fall supper. I donated a turkey and Haley was kind enough to bake the bird for her dear old dad.
Today, I organized a crew of 5 dedicated guys who carpet cleaned the whole church and put the church back together after the fall supper.
There are some tough days and there are some good days. The last few days have been good days.
