Again With the Chickens

The feud with the neighbors continues.  In their haste to expand their chicken empire, they have expanded their operations to my garage without asking permission.  In fact, while the neighbor lady was running interference offering me a movie, her hired hand was stealthily moving his flock into my garage.

I was at the neighbors later in the day for Happy Hour.  Because they are so interested in chickens, I informed them of the Chicken Workshop being held in Red Deer, Alberta.  The workshop is only $45(including lunch).  I also told them my favorite rooster joke which drew more than a patronizing laugh.  Little did I know the joke was on me.  When I was on my way to Church Council meeting later in the evening, I opened the garage door to find real bantam chickens in a custom made coop right in front of my Camry.  The sign on the coop read, "Alvin's Urban Chicken Sanctuary".  I have been franchised.  When I returned from the church meeting, the chickens sprung to attention in response to the car's headlights.  They were still in my garage even though I raised a minor ruckus with my neighbors earlier in the evening.  I should add that I said I would pray for them while I was at the church.

I was up early to gather eggs this morning after the rooster woke me; however, the chickens had been moved back to headquarters by the time I left for work.  I am just hoping the neighbors don't move their hog operations into town, but then again...fresh bacon and eggs wouldn't be all bad.
