April 5

I just got back from Mexico on Sunday.  The getaway was everything I hoped it would be.  On the first night in Puerto Vallarta, I introduced myself to a couple of young teachers from Regina.  I invited them to sit with Haley, Dustin, Mary, Morgan, and me.  From that point on, we met their friends and friends of theirs and so on.  By the end of the week, I had a posse of 13 hanging out at the pool, playing cards, and doing what you do in PV.
I started everyday with coffee on my balcony and a good book.  After a late breakfast, I walked from 7-10 km along the Malecon.  Our resort was only 20 minutes from the Malecon.  When I returned to the resort, I was a pool rat for the rest of the afternoon.  Late afternoon was time for my Americano and Bailley's.  We usually had a late meal.  I decided to eat moderately, and for that I am grateful because I actually lost a couple pounds in Mexico.
During the week, I met several interesting people.  It was my own version of "Talking to Americans".  The acquaintance I spent the most time with was a Brazilian who moved to New Jersey.  He started a successful flooring company and married a beautiful Peruvian lady.  His energy and passion was a real delight.  No matter where I travel, meeting people and hearing their stories is my greatest delight.
Now that I am back, it is time to begin my next round of bus meetings.  I will be delivering donuts, good will, and information to the 150 wonderful bus drivers of Prairie Spirit School Division.  It's a wonderful retirement job.
